Insight Of The Week: Most Email Marketers Priorities Are Wrong

Take 5 seconds to think of the most important parts of a “good email”

Let me guess

You said things like;

  • Design

  • Copy

  • Subject line

etc

Why not deliverability?

Not one single thing matters as much as deliverability

You can have the worlds best subject line, but if no one sees it, who cares?

Deliverability is the #1 priority. Always.

Begin cleaning your list at minimum every 3 months, if not monthly!

Monitor your deliverability like your life depends on it. We check the deliverability stats (bounce, unsub, spam) of every email that goes out.

Nail your deliverability, then focus on the contents of the email.

The issue is, most people just assume there deliverability is fine because they get decent engagement.

But it’s a spectrum. It’s not black or white. You might have “ok” deliverability, but moving it to fantastic could see a 10% jump in revenue!

Countdown timers can lead to a giant increase in click through.

Next time you’re running a sale, product launch, or other event look no further than Mailtimers.

Actionable Tip Of The Day

Write your next subject line like you’re talking to a friend.

Instead of;

“New Arrivals - Just Dropped”

Try something like;

“Guess what just happened??”

Instead of;

“Mouth Tape: Improve Your Sleep!”

Try

“Did you sleep okay?”

Notice the use of lower case. Capitalising every word makes you look like a marketing email. No one talks like that, so why should you?
