Marketing is dying
here's why
Now to preface, this email isn’t overly about email marketing specifically.
It’s about the landscape of marketing in general.
I posted this on twitter the other day:
Marketing has become purely reactive for majority of businesses.
It looks something like this:
> Wait for trend
> Trend becomes popular
> Do trend
> Maybe get some traction
> Repeat
This only leaves real growth for the trend setters of the real early adopters.
All your typical tiktok dance, trending sounds, ugc, Instagram reel stuff is great.
It does well for brands.
But you do end up becoming “just another brand”.
The edge that usually then takes a brand to the next level is found in their media buying or somewhere else in their business.
I think what we will see, is the brands that are willing to take risks, get creative, become trend setters, will see the most success
