Why your campaigns are useless without flows
+ much more
G’day
Todays email is sparked by a recent call I had with a prospect. North of $2M a year in revenue. No flows.
Here’s what we’ll be diving into today
Why FLOWS are vital
Analysing a random email
Email Benchmarks For 2024
Let’s get into it!
Email Analysis
Choosing a random email from my inbox and analysing it
Let’s start with the positives;
Aesthetically pleasing
Not a bad hero image/header
decent social badges
No misguided/distracting CTA’s
Basic colours + easy to read
Negatives;
File size way too big. It took quite a while to load
Everything is a GIF or an image (bad for deliverability)
Small/basic CTA’s of “Shop Now”
No reviews - back in stock email → presumably sold out? Surely a lot of reviews then!
Almost too many moving parts with all the GIFS
Overall this email is solid.
But the lack of native text is really concerning and would be contributing to a drop in deliverability.
They seemed to have prioritised aesthetics over readability/functionality (with all the GIFs and poor load speed)
But not bad!

Actionable Tip Of The Day
It’s not enough to just have campaigns.
Take a look at this image above.
Those flowcharts dive into typically what happens after a campaign is sent.
A lot of people consider flows/campaigns to work in isolation of each other, and fail to consider the link between them.
But, every time you send a campaign, recipients are taking an action. Right?
If someone clicks the link, they immediately start taking action which will enrol them into certain flows. If you have all your flows setup, there is no reason why someone who doesn’t click a link in a campaign, should not be getting hit with relevant follow ups.
These flows then assist in nurturing that recipient to sale.
Whereas if you have no flows, you’re just praying that people click your campaigns and find their way to checkout instantly.
Make sure ALL your pre-purchase flows have some content. That is;
