5 A/B tests you need to run asap
Get these going!
Hey there,
When it comes to moving the needle in your email marketing account, A/B tests are going to be one of the most important things.
Why?
Because tests that take little to no time to implement can have such massive impacts on sales.
But….
It’s knowing WHICH tests to run that hold most people back.
They spend time implementing things that really don’t move the needle, or they test multiple things at once and end up butchering their data.
So let’s run through 5x tests that you need to throw into your store
The initial time delay on your abandonment flows
a. Test 1 hour vs 2 hours as a start (Most people never test this)
Subject lines
a. This is always a good test - but you actually need to test something tangible. If you can’t describe what variable you’re testing you’re actually not going to learn anything. Test the inclusions of first names or length
Social proof v No Social Proof
a. In your campaign emails, test the difference of adding reviews vs not having reviews. In theory, having reviews should be better. But you can also test how many reviews should you show. Is 1 good one enough? Or should you add 3-5?
The length of your flows
a. This is one people neglect. Try adding an email to your flows and seeing the impact of placed order rate over 14 ish days. Sometimes simply adding an email can increase revenue by quite a fair amount
POP-UP FORM
a. Always test your pop up form. Test offers, CTA language, and the inclusion of teasers/micro commitments. Increasing your pop up form opt in rate will have a direct impact on revenue.
Hope this helps,
Angus
